About Us

Who We Are

Angaza Hope Initiative is a community-driven development organization based in Kisumu County, Kenya.

We operate at the intersection of sustainable livelihoods, climate resilience, youth empowerment, and inclusive social development.

Our work is grounded in strong community relationships and active collaboration with local administrative leaders, schools, and grassroots networks.

Our Vision

Thriving, resilient communities driving sustainable development.

Our Mission

To design and scale community-driven solutions that advance sustainable livelihoods, climate resilience, youth economic empowerment, and inclusive social development.

Why We Exist

Communities in Western Kenya face interconnected challenges including declining agricultural productivity, climate variability, youth unemployment, environmental degradation, and persistent vulnerability among women-led and low-income households.

Limited access to mental and reproductive health education further constrains social and economic progress.

Short-term aid responses do not address these structural barriers.

Angaza Hope Initiative exists to design and implement sustainable, scalable solutions that strengthen livelihoods, restore ecosystems, expand economic opportunity for youth, and build resilient community systems capable of long-term development.

Our Solution

We integrate sustainable livelihoods, youth economic empowerment, environmental stewardship, and inclusive health education into scalable development models.

Our programs are community-led, evidence-informed, and designed for measurable impact and long-term sustainability.

Core Activities

  • Operation of a community tree nursery supporting reforestation and agroforestry initiatives.

  • Community and school-based tree planting programs.

  • Farmer training in regenerative and climate-smart agriculture.

  • Youth green enterprise and agribusiness training programs.

  • Participation in and support of community barazas to promote awareness and engagement.

  • Mental health and reproductive health education initiatives.

  • Capacity building for community groups and local leadership structures.

Our Objectives

  • Advance sustainable livelihood systems through regenerative agriculture and market-oriented production models.

  • Strengthen climate and environmental resilience through agroforestry, tree planting, and sustainable land management.

  • Expand youth economic participation through green skills, entrepreneurship, and agribusiness development.

  • Promote inclusive health and social well-being through mental and reproductive health education.

  • Build strong community institutions and partnerships with local administrative structures.

Our Partnerships

We collaborate closely with local administration and community leaders, participating in and supporting chief barazas to promote awareness on sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, youth empowerment, and health education.

These forums strengthen transparency, accountability, and community ownership of our programs.

Our partnerships with schools advance environmental education through student-led tree planting initiatives.

Additionally, we operate a community tree nursery that supplies quality seedlings for farmers, schools, and reforestation initiatives, supporting climate resilience, biodiversity restoration, and income-generating opportunities.
